Ruth has a quiet shift in the E.D., by reception, taking Charlie's pulse and trying to solve Big Mac's puzzle. Ruth looks after new nurse Scarlett and, after some encouragement from Jordan, demonstrates to her a tricky suturing procedure on the young daughter of a resident leading plastic surgeon who has a self inflicted wound to her chin.
